In this Two-Night package, we will be covering 3 major villages on Alleppey and Kumarakom Backwater route.

 

  • Embarkation at Alleppey

You will be embarked on our boat by noon. Our welcoming and wonderful team on board will help you with smooth check-in. A gathering would be held at the lounge for giving brief information on the safety of the Boat, Cruise Route, Food menu, stay, etc. Then we will set sail through the charms of Alleppey.

About Alleppey

Officially called Alappuzha, Alleppey is a city located in the South Indian state of Kerala. Bordering the Laccadive Sea, it is known for its wide network of interlinking, palm-fringed canals called backwaters and rejuvenating Ayurvedic resorts. Allepey is also popular for its Houseboat cruises that pass through the serene backwaters, where you can catch glimpses of green paddy fields, choir-making activities, beautiful avifauna, and witness the life of locals in Kerala.

 

  • Cruising through Punnamada Lake

After cruising through Alleppey we will be gently cruising through the waves and breezes of Punnamada Lake (also called Punnamada Kayal) which is a part of the Vembanad Lake. Vembanad Lake spans a number of districts in Kerala. Hence, it is called by different names in different parts of Kerala. When the lake reaches Kuttanad, it is called Punnamada Lake or Punnamada Kayal. It is the longest lake in Kerala. The lake is popular for hosting the very famous boat race called the Nehru Trophy boat race. The race is held during the renowned Onam festival and attracts a lot of tourists from worldwide.

  • Discovering the core

After a relaxing cruise through Punnamada Lake, we will be heading over to canals and different core villages in Alleppey. We will be cruising gently and slowly through these areas so that you can get a good look at the everyday village life on the banks. You can see people working in the paddy fields, children swimming in the lake, people engaged in various kinds of fishing, women weaving coconut palm fronds, and so on.

  • Visit Champakulam

After viewing and knowing the charming canals and villages we will reach Champakulam by evening and get down for visiting markets, church, handicraft manufacturing units, and snake boat.

About Champakulam

Champakulam is a village situated in Alleppey which is well known for its historic events. Champakulam is part of Kuttanad, the rice bowl of Kerala, and is resplendent in green paddy fields, coconut groves, and waterfowl. Champakulam is an important tourist spot and is famous for the Moolam boat race. The river Pampa flows through the village, splitting it into two. The place also has a church which is known to be established in AD 427. It is known as one of the oldest churches in Kerala. The village is also connected by road to Alappuzha, Changanaserry, and Edathua.

  • Halt at Nedumudi

After a tiring day, we will be halting at Nedumudi for the night stay which is approximately 4.7km away from Champakulam by 5:30 pm where you can enjoy relaxing the rest of the day in our extremely comfortable Houseboat enjoying the night vibes and views of Nedumudi.

  • Kavalam Visit

After a good night at Nedumudi, we will start cruising through the morning sunshine of Nedumudi after breakfast and will move towards Kavalam. Along the way, you will be visiting and experiencing different sizes of big paddy fields reclaimed from the lake by farmers, farming, fishing, collecting clam, toddy tapping, etc. By this cruise will cover Kumarakom which is a village on Vembanad Lake in the backwaters of Kerala, southern India. It’s laced with canals, where houseboats ply the waters. In the lake, Pathiramanal Island is a haven for rare migratory birds.

  • Halt at C.Block

After exploring Kavalam we will then come to C.block for a night halt at 5.30 pm where you can spend your last night stay in Houseboat.

By Evening if you are interested we will be able to arrange a narrow canal ride at an extra cost where we will be having a closer look at the harmonious life of the village people. You can also enjoy the beauty of lush green paddy fields, palm-fringed lagoons, different species of birds, etc all along the way. (If you are interested in the ride you will have to mention it at the time of booking)

DAY THREE

  • Sailing through Vembanad Lake

We will start cruising at 7.30 am from C.block and sail through Vembanad Lake (The second largest freshwater lake in India) along with breakfast and reach Punamada Lake. This lake is the venue of the annual spectacular race of Snake boats of different villages of Alleppey and its neighboring places, on the second Saturday of the month of August.

  • Disembarkation

We disembark by 9 AM.
